Jung Min-Sun
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine the mediating effect of intentional rumination in regards of the relationship between posttraumatic growth, posttraumatic adolescents¡¯ self-disclosure, and social support in Calhoun and Tedeschi¡¯s(2006) model. The direct mediating effect of disclosure going toward intentional rumination and posttraumatic growth was not significant, while the mediating effects of social support toward posttraumatic growth and intentional rumination, and intentional rumination going toward posttraumatic growth were both significant. The results further indicate that intentional rumination partially mediates the relationship between social support and posttraumatic growth, thus confirming the importance of social support variable in order to promote intentional rumination and posttraumatic growth, especially for posttraumatic adolescents.
